The Women's Health Initiative
research has dramatically changed the perception of hormone replacement
therapy during the past year. The news media has seized upon
this situation rendering conflicting and confusing reports on the
risks and benefits of this therapy. A similar situation applies
regarding mammography, with some studies indicating that the procedure
was not warranted, and others indicating that it is mandatory.
When a gynecologist is finally
satisfied with the approach to be taken regarding individual patients,
Care Plans can be written into the Team
Chart Concept which reflect those decisions.
If changes develop, based on other research and findings, those
care plans can be changed without contacting the software manufacturer.
While it is important to appear confident, and routine care
plans certainly project that confidence, it is also important to
be appropriately consistent with current medical knowledge.
The Team Chart Concept
allows both.
The obstetric patient requires
ongoing monitoring throughout pregnancy, with most values being
normal. The Team Chart Concept
allows the practitioner to review data based on abnormal findings
only, which simplifies the decision making process. In addition,
all the documented data can be easily transported to the hospital,
consistent with current HIPPA guidelines, for review prior to labor
and delivery.
