The Team
Chart Concept fully supports and encourages the use of digital
cameras. Photographs can be taken of the Patient and stored in
the Patient's Timeline. These photographs can then appear on Prescriptions
printed by the Team Chart Concept. This
may be an especially useful feature if you prescribe controlled substances.
Photographs
can also be taken of the patient's medical condition. Skin conditions,
insect bites, wounds, evidence of mistreatment, etc. can be documented in
the Patient's Timeline via digital cameras. You can also scan-in pictures
taken from any type of camera, though this may be a more cumbersome approach
as it requires the use of a scanner.
The
quality of a digital camera that you wish to use is up to you and the needs
of your practice. The only consideration is the amount of hard-drive
space required for storage of a large number of digital pictures. Consultation
with your friendly neighborhood hardware vendor should help you to make a
good decision.
You
can also store video images in the Team Chart Concept. This
can be quite useful for some providers, but has the potential to dramatically
eat up disk storage. If you storage of pictures and video is great,
you may consider a second server dedicated just to the storage of such files. Again,
check with your hardware vendor for guidelines on purchasing and using digital
cameras and video devices.
