At
Ulrich Medical Concepts, we take our business and community responsibilities
very seriously. We believe that
we are pioneers in every sense of the word, and are trying to effect changes
in medicine as practiced in the 21st century. We
do not believe that the medical profession and its practitioners need an
endure or tolerate the continued decline in efficiency and reduction in practitioner
compensation.
Since
we believe so strongly in the concept of enhanced medical practice, it has
become our duty to identify those practices which would most benefit from
what we do. In a larger sense,
the communities served by these practices need and require this enhancement
to a very basic community need. Bureaucratic and governmental demands have
reduced the time that practitioners have to spend with individual patients.
Health-care issues are at the forefront of political debate in the United
States today. Access to care,
cost of care, labor issues within health-care institutions, and general dissatisfaction
with the effectiveness of health-care do not mandate the decline of health-care
the in this country.
As
long as the medical practitioner is focused on the improvement of quality
of life, and the effective delivery of health care to the greatest number
of individuals, medicine will survive and prosper. We
provide not just some software to enhance information gathering by the individual
practitioner, but an entire system of personal onsite support to create a
working environment that gets things done.
Many
persons who are currently employed in physician offices will spend their
lives moving paper from one side of the office to another, and shelving and
reshelving files until they retire. The
country can no longer afford this waste of human potential. The
computer is designed to perform this type of drudgery. There's
no ethical or moral reason to commit workers to this type of labor. Why
allow their intelligence and concern to lie idle for years, when these resources
could be used to help manage an already difficult problem? Why
should they not benefit from learning to effectively gather information from
members of the practice, the families and people who live in their communities? Why
should they not be part of doing what they dreamed of when they started work
- making a real difference in the lives of those patients? While
we are busy improving the office, why not change practice
guidelines from bureaucratic obstacles to easily manipulated tools - tools
that enhance patient confidence and physician satisfaction?
We
are obviously biased toward a system that works. We
do not apologize for believing in something that has so effectively changed
lives of practitioners, workers, and patients. We're
not intimidated by the transition from a paper-based system to an electronic
medical record system because we have demonstrated that this transition can
be made quickly and effectively. We have observed that training and support are much easier
with a system that is well-designed in the first place. Although we demand of users that they learn to use the system,
and be certified in its use, we have not found this to be a formidable task
because the benefits of the transition are obvious at the outset. Furthermore,
those benefits only increase after the transition occurs.
Finally,
it is not in our interest for any of our installations to fail, or not do
well. For this reason, and because
it is the right thing to do, we thoroughly analyze any prospective installation
and deliver a complete report regarding advantages and disadvantages of the
installations in that office. We
expect all persons who participate with us in that installation to be aware
of these concerns, and work with us to address them effectively. An honest
effort by both the office staff and the support team, guided by a proven
installation plan, pays real dividends.
After
the installation is complete, we then remain available for complete support
after the sale. We believe
that any less performance risks of failure of the installation as well
as a loss of our reputation. Our
company has performed very well, because we have excellent software and
are committed to training and supporting its users.
